Educational Technology COGS


About the Program

 

The Educational Technology Certificate of Graduate Study (COGS) program is offered in partnership with Rowan’s NCATE accredited College of Education. It includes a comprehensive picture of the use of technology in education today. The goal of this program is to provide educators with the knowledge and proficiencies needed to incorporate the existing and emerging educational technologies into their classrooms.

Curriculum

Program Code: .COCOG-EDTEC / Major Code: G124

 

The Educational Technology COGS is a part-time program offered in an accelerated online format. It requires the completion of 15 graduate semester hours (5 courses) in 2.5 consecutive semesters. The courses that make up the Educational Technology COGS also serve as content area courses for the Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Teacher Leadership program. Therefore, the semester hours earned in the COGS are applicable to the M.Ed. degree requirements. In order to be admitted to the M.Ed. degree program students must submit a separate application.

 

Coursework

Each course is scheduled in 8 week modules with each week of work starting every Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. and ending every Monday at midnight (Eastern Standard Time). The following is a list of items required to begin the application process for the Educational Technology Certificate of Graduate Study program. There may be additional action or materials required for admission to the program. Upon receipt of the materials below a representative from the CGCE Admissions Processing Office will contact you with confirmation or indicating any missing items.

  • Bachelor's degree (or its equivalent) from an accredited institution of higher learning
  • Official transcripts from all colleges attended (regardless of number of credits earned)
